How to Prepare for the Exam?

Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Understand the Exam Format. As we mentioned, the exam is comprised of 200 multiple-choice questions, and you’ll have 4 hours to complete it. There is a 10-minute break that you can choose to use or not.

2. Familiarize Yourself with the Exam Content. The best way to do this is to review the PMI-PBA Exam Content Outline, which you can find on the PMI website. This document will give you a high-level overview of the topics that will be covered on the exam.

3. Get Study Materials. Once you understand the exam format and content, it’s time to get some study materials. We highly suggest that you register as a PMI member in order to download these FREE eBooks from the PMI website:

1. PMI-PBA Manual

2. BA Practice Guide

3. PMBOK 7th Ed = make sure to check if there is a latest edition

4. Requirements Management Practice Guide

4. Don’t forget to practice, practice, practice! The best way to do this is to take practice exams. Taking a practice test will not only familiarize you with the format and structure of the exam, but it will also give you a chance to assess your knowledge and skills.  It will also help you identify your weaknesses and areas where you need to focus your studies. We recommend taking a practice exam from a reputable provider.

5. Time management. Finally, make sure you give yourself enough time to study for the exam. The PMI-PBA is a challenging exam, and you’ll need to devote a significant amount of time to study for it.
